“alternative learner” to replace “learning disabled”

“Rosa’s Law,” which changes references in many Federal statutes those currently refer to “mental retardation” to refer, instead, to “intellectual disability”

Alternative Learner

The IAAL has requested that the BC Ministry of Education adopt a new description for people with an alternative way of learning and considers the terms “allotrilexic” or “alternative learner” to replace “learning disabled”.

Learning Disabled

When I had a learning disability I could not read, now that I understand that I have an alternative way of learning I can read.  I just do it in a different way and in my experience different is not wrong or a disability.
